A Closer Look at Tourmaline Hair Straighteners

Looking at the evolution of hair straighteners, you will see that there are many types to choose from. You have research and development to thank for, and now many people have the option to find the right hair straightener for them. One good straightener in particular is the tourmaline kind. This one has some great things going about it. In the end, you might even decide that such a straightener might be the right one for you after all.

Tourmaline is something that has been utilized for many years, most especially in water filters. In more recent years, the hair industry began looking at its potential to improve the hair. It is a precious stone that comes in many colors or in colorless form, and can also be traced in different countries from around the world such as Russia, Afghanistan, Burma or Brazil among others. It is also more commonly known as the Rainbow Gemstone, because some pieces even get to capture all the colors you can find in a rainbow as its name means “mixed colors”.

The reason why tourmaline is great for hair straighteners is because of some technical things. A hair straightener is used to generate some negative ions onto your hair to keep it looking straight. Also, the material relies on far infrared rays (also known as FIR) to your hair. The far infrared rays work to lock in the moisture to keep your hair looking soft. Simply put, a hair straightener with tourmaline will not dry up your hair as other hair straighteners made from other materials have the potential to do. This means you get soft and safe hair that looks good after ironing.

Also, you notice sometimes hair that has been straightened by hair straighteners gradually work up a bit of frizz. Because of this, it gets a lot of static and makes your hair look unsightly. The far infrared ray of the tourmaline hair straightener is able to remove the static from your hair. This means when you use this kind of hair straightener your hair will not frizz at all. Sometimes, it even eliminates the need to get some sort of hair product to work into your hair after ironing. This results into less debris to clean from your hair once you get in the shower and shampoo it.

Also, using tourmaline hair straigtheners that come with negative ions mean getting the job done in half the time. It penetrates deep into the hair shaft while keeping it safe from heat, so you will notice that it will only take less than the time it takes to fix it. There is also no sizzling to be heard, as these things do not occur when you use a hair straightener that has a tourmaline infrared feature.

These are some of the great benefits of tourmaline as used in a hair straightener. If you already own one, good for you! If not yet, it might be high time to head off to the department store and score one for yourself.
